Recipe Ideas - Lose Weight with this French Red Pepper Tart Recipe
If you’re a domestic goddess, like our very own Black Forest Gateau - Nigella, then you don’t need to slim or lose any stomach fat, because you are perfect just the way are (Nigella if you’re reading this get in touch !)
If on the other hand you obsess about your weight and think people would prefer you thin (they probably won’t by the way - Fern looked much nicer before all that messing about with her insides!) then check out this Red Pepper Tart recipe which sounds nice to eat anyway, even if you’re not interested in losing weight.

Ingredients
1 shortcrust pastry (aka pie crust)
5 red peppers
200 g feta cheese
4 eggs
50 ml of skimmed milk
salt, pepper
Method
- Preheat over to thermostat 6 (180°)
- Spread the pastry in a tart dish, make holes in it with a fork
- As soon as the oven is at the correct temperature, put the tart in to pre-cook for 10 minutes
- In the meantime, boil a large saucepan of water
- Wash the peppers, cut the skin in 2 or 3 places and put them in the boiling water
- Leave them in the boiling water for at least 5 minutes then cool them down
- Open them up lengthwise to remove the stalks and the grains
- Peel them and cut them into strips and set aside
- Cut the feta cheese into small cubes and set aside
- When the pastry is pre-cooked, cover them with the strips of red peppers and place the feta cubes on top
- Leave the over to heat to the same temperature
- Beat the 4 eggs into an omelette in a salad bowl
- Add the milk, salt and pepper
- Pour the mixture onto the tart and put in oven to cook for 20 minutes
- If you're really serious about losing weight, throw the tart in the bin and drink a glass of water
