Ice Cream Recipes - Black Forest Ice Cream
Simple Black Forest Cake Ice Cream recipes using an ice cream maker or ice cream machine
Ingredients
28 oz. sweetened condensed milk
4 cups half-n-half
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/2 cup chocolate syrup
16 oz. tinned cherries
1 cup chocolate chips
Utensils Needed
Ice cream maker (also called ice cream freezer or ice cream machine)
Wire whisk
Large bowl
Ice
Rock salt
Method
- Mix 28 oz. of sweetened condensed milk, 1 tablespoon of vanilla and 4 cups of half-n-half in a large bowl using the wire whisk.
- Mix in the chocolate syrup until well combined.
- Drain cherries, and cut each cherry into quarters.
- Add cherries and chocolate chips to mix.
- Mix again.
- Pour ice cream mixture into a 1 gallon ice cream maker container.
- Use your ice cream maker as per the manufacturer's instructions.
- Drain water from ice cream maker when the machine has finished.
- Repack ice cream maker with ice and salt - 3 parts ice to 1 part salt.
- Cover ice cream maker with a heavy towel. Place ice cream maker out of direct sunlight.
- Leave to sit for 1 hour.
- Serve ice cream immediately, or store it in your freezer or deep freezer for long-term storage.
- Pour whipped topping onto Black Forest ice cream, with maraschino cherries and chocolate syrup. Sprinkle with nuts if desired.
