One of the easy cake recipes around
Blanch the softened butter with the white sugar and soft brown sugar
Add the egg, liquid vanilla and salt. Mix together.
Add chocolate chips and baking powder.
Add flour.
Mix into a batter with the spatula
Arrange the mix on a sheet of greaseproof paper. Shape into a long cylindrical shape.
Roll the cylindrical shape in the greaseproof paper and press with metal spatula until it is well shaped.
Leave for 2 hours.
Remove greaseproof paper.
Cut the cylindrical shaped mix into slices about one quarter of an inch thick
Place these slices onto a greased tray. Make sure that they don't stick together.
Place in a hot oven 160/200 C
Cook until brown. The browner they are the dryer they are. If you prefer them softer remove them when they are still light coloured.
After cooking leave them to cool for two minutes before removing them from the tray with a flat spatula.
Leave to cool. Eat!
